V posledn\u00edch letech je z\u0159eteln\u00e1 p\u0159evaha aplikac\u00ed v geochemii a biogeochemii (studiu proces\u016f v \u017eivotn\u00edm prost\u0159ed\u00ed), v anal\u00fdze paleoprost\u0159ed\u00ed, v hydrogeologii a hydrologii.<br><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Geochemie stabiln\u00edch izotop\u016f lehk\u00fdch prvk\u016f sleduje p\u0159irozen\u00e9 zm\u011bny v pom\u011brech stabiln\u00edch izotop\u016f (nej\u010dast\u011bji <sup>2<\/sup>H\/<sup>1<\/sup>H, <sup>13<\/sup>C\/<sup>12<\/sup>C, <sup>15<\/sup>N\/<sup>14<\/sup>N, <sup>18<\/sup>O\/<sup>16<\/sup>O a <sup>34<\/sup>S\/<sup>32<\/sup>S) v p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00edch materi\u00e1lech. Zm\u011bny v pom\u011brech stabiln\u00edch izotop\u016f jednotliv\u00fdch prvk\u016f jsou zp\u016fsobeny mal\u00fdmi rozd\u00edly v jejich fyzik\u00e1ln\u00edch a chemick\u00fdch vlastnostech. P\u0159esn\u00e9 m\u011b\u0159en\u00ed t\u011bchto izotopov\u00fdch pom\u011br\u016f umo\u017e\u0148uje bl\u00ed\u017ee specifikovat zdroje t\u011bchto prvk\u016f, jejich stopov\u00e1n\u00ed b\u011bhem fyzik\u00e1ln\u011bchemick\u00fdch proces\u016f, kvantifikaci a bilancov\u00e1n\u00ed sledovan\u00fdch syst\u00e9m\u016f. Pro vlastn\u00ed m\u011b\u0159en\u00ed izotopov\u00fdch pom\u011br\u016f je zapot\u0159eb\u00ed sledovan\u00e9 prvky p\u0159ev\u00e9st do formy jednoduch\u00fdch plyn\u016f (H<sub>2<\/sub>, CO<sub>2<\/sub>, N<sub>2<\/sub> nebo SO<sub>2<\/sub>).
